Our Setting And Experiences

The Setting

We provide a homely, nurturing environment which enables our children to develop and flourish with confidence. Children’s sense of curiosity and wonder, determination and desire to learn are nurtured and allowed to flourish.

We are situated in close proximity to our local town which allows us to engage our children within their local community. We visit our local care home for the elderly every month for joint activities which has had huge benefits for both our children and the residents. In addition we regularly visit the local library, post office, green grocers and local package free shop which provides children with a breadth of experiences and sense of involvement and belonging

within the community.

Outdoor Environment

As a setting we are passionate about the environment and teaching our children to love and care for the natural world. We are extremely proud to be ‘Plastic free nursery accredited’ having removed any unnecessary single use plastic, the children have been fully involved in completing the objectives to achieve this.

We are lucky to be surrounded by three large gardens that our children spend precious time in every day. The children have planted flowers to look beautiful but also to attract butterflies and bees. We have an outdoor learning lodge, bug hotel, herb and vegetable gardens and more. The children take great pride in growing their own vegetables and plants and learn about planting, weeding,

composting and wildlife.

Forest School And The Farm

In addition to our own surroundings, we attend Forest School sessions at a local farm with our older children, where they learn a multitude of new skills and feel empowered as they learn more about their own natural environment.

During the summer, we spend a week visiting the farm where as well as being able to explore and engage in the environment, our children also get involved with animal feeding, woodland walks and so much more!

In addition to this, we are currently in the process of setting up our own on-site forest school!
